Gdansk Shipyard
2008
A journey through Gdansk Shipyard to the score by Ilona Sekacz – a living monument to the struggle to overthrow communism in Poland, the former home of Solidarity on the brink of collapse. The film captures snow-crusted shipyard just before its transformation.
Commissioned by The Wapping Project & Jerwood Charitable Foundation for the series Jerwood: Found in Translation, 2008, and first exhibited at The Wapping Project as part of a solo exhibition Gdansk: Polish Lives Found in Translation, 2008.
