A short story commissioned and published by Migrant Journal.
Cyprinus Carpio from Tesco looks at the meandering origins of the Polish Christmas Carp— a fusion dish between Jewish, Polish and Soviet traditions. From a socialist estate in 1980s Poland to a New Town in 2010s England, the story narrates a journey of a Christmas carp from purchase to plate (including a scene of violent killing of the fish), across the Baltic and the North Sea, and across communist Poland and austerity Britain.
