Polish Exotica
2008

This film truly and ironically takes the audience into a queue for oranges, toilet paper and coffee. Young people from Gdansk (around the same age as the Solidarity) present personal stories portraying the reality of growing up in the dying days of communism in Poland.

Commissioned by The Wapping Project & Jerwood Charitable Foundation for the series Jerwood: Found in Translation, 2008, and first exhibited at The Wapping Project as part of a solo exhibition Gdansk: Polish Lives Found in Translation, 2008.

Music: Ilona Sekacz
